Jefferson State serves approximately 14,000 students each year and is one of the largest community colleges in the state. We currently offer 116 university transfer programs, 39 career programs and numerous certificate programs at our four campuses in Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair and Chilton counties. 

The Center for Workforce Education at Jefferson State Community College delivers fast-track skills training designed to quickly train individuals for immediate employment. Our full portfolio of non-credit training covers healthcare, IT, manufacturing, craft training, and business sectors and is ever evolving to accommodate the needs of employers in the state of Alabama.

Central Six AlabamaWorks! is the Regional Workforce Council for Region 4. This six-county region includes Blount, Chilton, Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, and Walker counties. Central Six aims to connect business and industry with resources such as state funding opportunities, talent pipelines, incumbent worker training, and offers networking opportunities for businesses, education institutions, and workforce and economic development professionals. Central Six focuses on five crucial industry clusters for Region 4: Construction, Healthcare, Information Technology, Manufacturing, and Transportation & Logistics.

Eden Career Technical Center Eden Career Tech Center is a part of the St Clair County School System which offers 16 programs to its students.

All of our programs offer students credentials in their program. Some credentials offered are ADOBE, Microsoft Office, NCCER, Forestry, EKG Technician, CNA, TestOut, ACE, iCAR, ASE, and National Fire Protection Agency to name a few offered to our students. They are currently offering night classes for Craft Laborer Training (Carpentry), Welding, and HVAC for anyone interested. The classes are free.
